We are at a crucial point in the development of artificial intelligence. In the future, success will not only depend on the complexity and progressiveness of a model, but also on who is able to scale this technology sustainably for billions of users. Current technology, such as Transformer models, is reaching its limits here as it is too energy- and hardware-intensive. Their performance decreases logarithmically with the size of the model, which means that energy consumption and hardware requirements increase exponentially during both training and use. <\/p>\n

To overcome these challenges, we at TerraTech have taken the next evolutionary step in AI development: Cognitive Systems. This new technology is more powerful and requires less hardware and energy than current Transformer models. Our goal is to revolutionize access to AI by developing models that work more efficiently and are more resource-efficient at the same time. <\/p>\n
The performance of our cognitive systems is demonstrated by the results of a benchmark on the well-known MNIST vision task. Our cognitive systems not only outperform specialized models, but also the most advanced vision transformers. <\/p>\n

Transformer models require enormous amounts of energy, both in training and in inference. In contrast, our Cognitive Systems consume significantly less energy and hardware resources, as the graphic above shows. <\/p>\n This combination of performance and energy efficiency makes Cognitive Systems a groundbreaking technology that enables artificial intelligence to be made sustainable and accessible for widespread use.<\/p>\n At TerraTech, we believe that the future of AI will be determined not only by the most advanced models, but by models that are sustainable, resource-efficient and scalable.
